Carola

I am Carola Wallet and live in Leimuiden, married with 2 children.

I have always been very active with sports: running, cycling, swimming, fitness, etc.

My first contact with Yoga was through pregnancy yoga. In 1996 I also started Hatha-yoga. I found this a wonderful complement to sports and it made me much more aware of my posture and breathing.

I have also taken courses in Reiki, QuantumTouch, and various types of massage courses.

In 2005 I became seriously ill, which meant I could no longer maintain my sports routine, but yoga remained. After major surgery in 2006, I had little energy and strength left. More than a year later, doctors said I should accept that. My stubborn and positive mind could not accept that, and my search continued to find a way to improve my quality of life.

In 2008 I came into contact with Chi Neng Qigong (CNQ), a Chinese movement discipline that is very effective for strengthening body and mind. The difference from yoga is that you use your mind during your exercises; Chi follows your attention.

Through daily practice of the exercises, my quality of life has improved enormously and I can now lead a 'normal' life again and can do sports again. I then took lessons from an instructor who motivated and inspired me greatly, which led me to pursue the training at the Chi Neng Institute in the Netherlands. This led me to start giving lessons to share this with others.

Since September 2011, I am a certified level 1 instructor CNQ and in 2015 as a level 2 instructor and I am affiliated with the Chineng Institute in the Netherlands. In that same month, I set up my business Chicaro to expand my lessons in the region. So I started teaching in Hoofddorp, Leimuiden, Roelofarendsveen, and Alphen a/d Rijn.

To broaden my horizons, I pursued Pilates training and have been certified as a Pilates instructor since 2013, and after a long personal journey and study, in 2015 I became certified as a Yoga teacher.

In 2016/2017, I further developed myself into an all-round meditation teacher/therapist. I completed this as a CPION/PLATO-certified program with the title HBO-qualified Paramedical Physical Therapist. This includes nutrition and medical basic knowledge. I can advise people in a holistic manner and guide them in their processes with injuries, emotional processing, chronic conditions, (chronic) fatigue, overweight, etc.

Since 2019, I have had my own studio in Yoga/Qigong/Pilates near my home in Leimuiden. There I teach all my lessons with pleasure in small groups. I am still regularly amazed at what these wonderful disciplines can do for someone.
